The aim of the course is to give students practical experience with writing projects in the field of environmental sciences. During classes, teachers give conservatory lectures and guide participants in the process of writing projects. Students come up with their own ideas, form groups, and write proposals on the topic of their own interests. The proposal can either be a hypothesis-driven research project or a project aiming at nature conservation. The projects are written according to the British Ecological Society grant scheme (https://www.britishecologicalsociety.org/funding/research-grants/), with some modifications. Proposals are evaluated by external reviewers and by fellow students. They are corrected and defended in front of the audience.
