General goals of education within the field of study of a specified level and study profile |
The purpose of the studies is to obtain increased knowledge in the field of environmental protection and management as well as conducting proper environmental decision-making process. A graduate will also possess knowledge of valorisation of natural resources and environmental risk assessment. Learning modules have been selected to provide the graduate with up-to-date knowledge of legal bases of the system of environmental protection and to make sure he/she can effectively solve problems coming from: conflict of interests amongst different stakeholders; clash between economic activities and rules of sustainable development along with environmental policy. A significant part of the curriculum are lab activities, field classes group projects which equip the graduate with skills allowing them to find employment at different positions and in various institutions: scientific research facilities/institutions/centres, adequate units of industry facilities, state administration, nature conservation agencies, and consulting agencies. An important opportunity for further development and work is the chance to apply for PhD studies at the best universities in Poland and abroad, moreover skills of acquiring grants and funding, also ability of preparing evaluations, risk assessment, environmental valorisations and various types of report and summaries. A graduate of Environmental Protection and Management is ready to further develop and hone their professional skills so that they can adjust to the changing conditions of Polish as well as international labour markets |
